We were opportune to be present at the National Disability Summit 2025 held at the Armed Forces Officers’ Mess, Asokoro, Abuja, from 29th-30th October, 2025<\/div>\n
themed _\u201cInclusive Nigeria: Empowering Persons with Disabilities for Sustainable Development.\u201d_ hosted by the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities- NCPWD, Nigeria<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span> and other partners, this landmark summit – the first of its kind, served as a follow-up to the Global Disability Summit 2025 held in Berlin, Germany.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

It brought together key stakeholders and partners in the disability space, as well as representatives from the Presidency, House of Representatives, and other Federal Ministries.<\/div>\n
Highlights of the summit include: \"\ud83d\udca5\"<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
– Inauguration of the National Forum of Disability Commission and Agency (NAFDCA) by the Honorable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu.<\/div>\n
– Panel sessions discussing barriers to an inclusive Nigeria and practical solutions.<\/div>\n
– A breakout session to develop a National Action Plan for implementing Nigeria\u2019s 2025 Global Disability Summit commitments.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

We had the opportunity as YieldUp Development Initiative<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span> through Emmanuel Abu<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span> to support network with other organisations , share the work we do targeted towards children and young persons with disabilities and proffer support to the high-level conversation to improve inclusive development for sustainable future for persons with disabilities.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

It was truly an inspiring experience and a strong reminder that inclusion is everyone\u2019s responsibility.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
