We were honored to join other nonprofits, government institutions, security actors, media, and experts at the Two-Day Policy Roundtable on Emerging Violent Conflict Trends in Nigeria, organised by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Nigeria, in collaboration with the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) and Nextier.

Our M&E Lead, Ilo Charity, represented YieldUp Development Initiative at this important engagement which featured, keynote presentations, panel discussions, group discussions and presentations.

Key takeaway? Simplistic labels like “farmer-herder clashes” often hide the deeper drivers of conflict land disputes, political interests, and economic factors.

For Benue State, this means:

Promoting deeper analysis of conflict dynamics

Driving inclusive dialogue that amplifies all voices

Supporting policies that address root causes, not just symptoms
